In aid of Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Staniford Family.
Our friend Lisa Staniford has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Having been misdiagnosed with a blocked milk duct, she now has a very rare aggressive inflammatory cancer which has spread to her liver and back and is now incurable. She was refused a mammogram as she is under 35 and has been back and forth to the doctors for 6 months before they finally diagnosed her. Lisa is the main carer for her husband, as well as having 3 children (aged 7, 5 and 10 months). Lisa helps everyone, runs a toddler group and is always there for her friends and now we want to be there for her. We are therefore holding the Charity Black Tie Ball as a fundraiser to raise awareness for early detection of cancer and to raise money for the 2 well-known cancer charities and also some money to help Lisa and her family have a break from this horrible disease and make some happy memories for them.
Lisa has a petition to cut the screening age for mammograms and smear tests..to sign this petition please follow this link:
